I am committed to supporting the ALS Association until a cure is discovered so that no other family has to go through what we went through. Until a cure is found, I will continue to raise money to fund research and to support both patients and caregivers. I do this work in honor of my mom and in memory of my dad, who died in 2019 from ALS, after only knowing he had ALS for less than six months.

I am a registered nurse and a daughter who lost her dad to ALS. I decided to serve on this committee in honor of my dad and every other person and family impacted by this horrible disease.

I am honored to be a part of the gala committee for a second year. I have continued to support the ALS Association for many years, as my Grandpa Joe Portillo Sr died of ALS in 2010. It brings a lot of hope seeing all of the research and treatment breakthroughs over the past few years, and I look forward to witnessing ALS become a livable disease.
